What safety measures do the stairlifts have?

To ensure your safety, all our stairlifts have the following safety measures:

  • Safe track: The stairlift track has been designed and finished so as to prevent clothing becoming entangled.
  • Start blocking mechanism: The stairlift will only operate from the joystick or toggle with the armrests down and the key inserted. Our stairlifts can only be operated  from the remote control if their arms are folded up for parking purposes.
  • Seat belt: The seat belt ensures the user's safety when the stairlift is in motion.

  • Automatic stop: The seat stops automatically if it encounters an obstruction on the track or stairs.

  • Swivel seat: All seats can be swivelled to give adequate space when getting on and off.

  • Key lock: All seats come with a key to prevent unauthorised use of the stairlift.

  • Hand-held call (Remote control) unit: The call unit allows the stairlift to be used by more than one occupant. It is also ideal for stairlifts in public buildings - by taking the hand-held call unit with you, you can prevent other occupants using the stairlift.

  • Battery operation: The stairlift works on two batteries so that, in the event of a loss of power, you can continue using it for several more trips.
